BGF Bake Off

Hundreds of people braved the wild and wet winter weather to join in our very tempting fete at the BGF Bake Off on Sunday 6 June at the Paddington Town Hall.

While the final figure is still being calculated, BGF looks to have raised more than $30,000-$35,000 in donations.

Our judging panel of Longrain Restaurant’s executive chef Martin Boetz, Channel Ten’s Ready, Steady Cook presenter Peter Everett and iconic Sydney drag queen Claire de Lune diligently worked their way through all 45 entries and then had the tough job of selecting awards for all the categories. This year, the judges decided to award Best in Show to an edible entry: Mac A What? (a basket of delectable macaroons) by Carlos Heng.

We’d like to thank the amazing efforts of all those who worked tirelessly in making the 2010 BGF Bake Off such a success: the Bake Off Committee, performers, sponsors, business supporters, volunteers and entrants.

All proceeds raised from the BGF Bake Off go towards improving the quality of life for men, women and children with HIV.
