Payroll (Workplace) Giving

If you’re working, a payroll or workplace giving programme is an easy and convenient way for you to pledge a nominated amount to charity on a regular basis.

It's so easy!  The amount you give is deducted on payday and sent to BGF on your behalf. You will receive a payment summary letter or email from your employer at the end of the financial year.

How does Payroll Giving work?

It's easy:

1.   Ask your employer to enter into a payroll giving arrangement

2.   Nominate the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation as your preferred charity

3.   Choose the frequency of your donation (for example, fortnightly or monthly) and the donation amount

4.   The donation is paid directly by your employer to the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation.

The Benefits of Payroll Giving

1. By participating in a payroll giving programme, you can:

  • Make a real difference to people living with HIV
  • Participate in a simple and flexible programme
  • Relax - no more forms to fill in!  Once you have set up payroll giving all donations are automatically deducted from your pay. (Remember, you can change the amount you give each pay, if you want to.)

2. Make your donations count in the most efficient and cost effective way

  • Payroll giving can reduce the administrative and fundraising costs for BGF. Many administration costs can be reduced though payroll giving.  You know that each dollar you donate through payroll giving is having an even greater impact for our clients

3. Your donation is tax deductible, plus no need to keep receipts during the year!

  • At the end of the financial year, you will receive written advice, from your employer, of the total amount you have donated to BGF for the year. This will be either in writing – letter or email – or included in your PAYG payment summary

4. Receive an immediate tax deduction at the time of donating

  • When employers calculate the amount to be withheld from your salary each pay period, they will deduct your donation amount to BGF from your gross salary before referring to the appropriate tax table.

Does my employer offer this scheme?

Ask your employer's payroll department if they offer Payroll Giving.  If they don't, suggest that they start one - it is easy and inexpensive to run.

If you need help or advice please let us know and we will contact them to help them start up a Payroll Giving scheme.
