Media Statement

8th July 2010

Following an enquiry by a community member, the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation has been asked by the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing, Communities NSW to participate in an investigation into the organisation’s audited financial statements.

While the investigation is underway, it would be inappropriate for our organisation to discuss any details that may affect its resolution.

However, as a registered charity, the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation welcomes this review and is willingly cooperating with the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing, Communities NSW in the investigation.

The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation’s annual audited statements are unqualified, which reflects that the organisation’s governance, compliance and financial management are transparent and appropriate. Our organisation’s accounts are managed by PKF Chartered Accountants, one of Australia’s largest accounting firms, and audited by Walker Wayland NSW, an independent firm of Sydney chartered accountants and business advisors.

No further public comment will be made by the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation or its office bearers until the investigation is completed by the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing, Communities NSW.
